Vernacular roadside hoardings through the tractor belt

Tractor buying happens close to home, so the plan stayed on the roads farmers already use. Large roadside hoardings went up on rural approach routes and village junctions, written in the language of the belt they stand in rather than translated from a national creative. Marathi sites carried the 4515 as the progressive farmer’s first choice; Hindi sites led on price, with the 4415 and 4515 shown at their on-road figures. Every board ended with the local dealer’s phone number, so the site worked as a lead source and not only as recall.

What it delivered

Naming the price and the dealer on the board turns a visibility site into an enquiry route: a farmer passing on a bike has the model, the figure and the number in one read. Running Marathi and Hindi versions off the same layout kept production simple while letting each market read the message in its own language.

Format Roadside hoardings
Markets Marathi and Hindi tractor belts
Creative Model, price and dealer number
Solis 4515 hoarding in Marathi on a rural approach road, carrying the local dealer number
Hindi price-led Solis hoarding showing the 4415 and 4515 on-road prices

Every placement shown was booked directly with the media owner and photographed on the ground by our team.

The preferred medium

79.1% is print

Print captured the highest share of the sector’s ad spend over the 12 months to September 2025, at 79.1% of estimated television, print and radio spend. Digital sits outside this split because TAM prices it on a different scale; it is reported by ad count instead.

Print 79.1%
Television 20.2%
Radio 0.7%

A plan that skips print buys a smaller share of this category’s voice than the headline spend suggests.

Methodology & notes

Built from 18 industry-standard ad-monitoring and research sources. Every number here is a count of ads recorded: how many ads the brand ran and where they ran. We do not publish rupees, because the cost figures in the data are not comparable between TV, radio, print and online. City figures cover print, radio and outdoor, the media bought market by market.
