Bengali hoardings taking a laundry chain into a district town

A national laundry chain arriving in a district town has to answer a local question, which is whether this is for people here. The hoardings answered it in Bengali, saying that the chain is now at Shantipur, and placed the sites where the town concentrates, at the railway junction and on the approach road beside it. The store count and the first order discount sat underneath as proof of scale and a reason to try.

What it delivered

Writing the arrival in Bengali and naming the town is what makes a national chain read as a local opening. Buying the railway junction reaches the commuting population of the whole town rather than one neighbourhood of it.

The preferred medium

90.6% is print

Print captured the highest share of the sector’s ad spend over the 12 months to September 2025, at 90.6% of estimated television, print and radio spend. Digital sits outside this split because TAM prices it on a different scale; it is reported by ad count instead.

Print 90.6%
Television 7.9%
Radio 1.5%

A plan that skips print buys a smaller share of this category’s voice than the headline spend suggests.

Methodology & notes

Built from 18 industry-standard ad-monitoring and research sources. Every number here is a count of ads recorded: how many ads the brand ran and where they ran. We do not publish rupees, because the cost figures in the data are not comparable between TV, radio, print and online. City figures cover print, radio and outdoor, the media bought market by market.
